Transport Solution Design Head - onsite (logistics)

Drake’s client – a logistics and transports solutions– is hiring a Transport Solution Design Head to be part of their collaborative team in Quezon City.

Goal of the position:

As the Lead for Transport Solutions Design, you will evaluate and promote sustainable transport solutions to reduce the carbon footprint for both customers and the company. Additionally, you will champion the digitalization of transport and the adoption of technologies such as TMS, digital freight, data analytics, and business intelligence. Collaboration with the VM and Procurement Team will be essential to conduct data research and provide strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze contractual commitments, RFQ documents, specifications, and other relevant data to plan and develop logistics solutions using knowledge and experience in the logistics industry, industrial engineering, ergonomics, customs regulations, freight/shipping modes, financial and commercial practices, and general business practices.
• Analyze supply chain data on customers' requests for quotation (RFQ) to ensure error-free and feasible solutions.
• Use analytical methods and a variety of tools to understand, predict, and improve logistics operations and processes.
• Supervise the development and utilization of Solutions Design Models.
• Manage the development and delivery of the Logistics Solutions design based on the data provided and gathered knowledge and experiences.
• Identify, develop, communicate, and seek consent on the proposed solutions with regards to customer requirements.
• Develop a high-performance service culture within the functional department. Plan, organize, and direct an efficient and effective functional department.
• Develop IKOs and KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
• Conduct LEADS assessments.
• Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to achieve Global, Regional, and Country objectives and targets.
• Conduct appropriate training for staff to motivate and improve their product and technical knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in any related field (e.g., engineering, supply chain, applied mathematics, economics, etc.).
• Good skill set across:
• Dedicated Fleet Design: Determine routes and driver/equipment schedules, over-the-road equipment specifications, and labor requirements.
o Outputs: Route maps, process flow charts, cost models, commercial pricing templates, overall solution concept, detailed route listing (including sequence, distance, drive time, stop time, arrival time, departure time, demand, and tolls).
o Specific Support Tools: Routing and scheduling optimization software, mapping software, proprietary equipment, yard and dock utilization tool, cost model, assumption document, process flow charts, overall solutions document.
• Transportation Analysis: Rate shipments according to customer needs (small package, less than truckload, and truckload tariff), mode optimized shipment profile, creation of consolidation models through multi-stop, multi-client, and pool distribution scenarios, carrier lane optimization.
o Outputs: Demand and lane maps, assumptions document, shipment profile reports, baseline cost and scenario(s) cost models.
o Specific Support Tools: Transportation optimization software, mapping software, assumption documents.
• Management of Transport Operations: Translate design outputs and analysis into operational processes and day-to-day transport operations management and IT system needs.
o Outputs: Transport-related operating procedures.
o Specific Support Tools: Transport Management Systems (TMS), Telematics.
• Sustainable Transport Solutions: Evaluate and challenge the team to consider alternative solutions with Burn-less or Burn-Clean Technologies aiming to help customers and the company's carbon footprint reduction initiative.
o Outputs: Sustainable transport solutions.
o Specific Support Tools: Carbon emission estimator tool, BEV, FCEV, alternative fuels assessment tool.
