Job Description

>Provides assistance/help to Immediate Superiors for the achievement of Quality Objectives.
>Conducts laboratory tests of new samples of pigments, resins, and other chemicals relative to the tasks of the department.
>Assists the Ink Making Manager in formulating new product lines of inks and lacquers.
>Conducts laboratory tests of incoming raw materials for ink production.
>Conducts other laboratory tests of print and packaging from the Converting
>Department to check quality on printability, solvent retention, color, etc.
>Updates, maintains, and safekeeps records of laboratory tests conducted and other pertinent documents.
>Checks and reports conditions of laboratory instruments / apparatus/ equipment.
>Helps in maintaining cleanliness and order in the work area, including the assigned machines, materials and tools used.
>Conduct QC test on in-process varnish/solution
>Operate and maintain lab equipment (viscometers, spectrophotometer, grind gauge, etc.)
>Maintain accurate Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety protocols in handling chemicals
>Assist in identifying and resolving issues related to QC failures
>Training programs covering rotogravure ink manufacturing, QC procedures and quality standards
>Work under the guidance of Laboratory Technologist and Technical Supervisor to gain hands-on experience
>Performs cross functional activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Education :
>B.S. Chemistry Graduate or B.S. Chemical Engineering Graduate with adequate or equivalent exposure experience / Fresh graduate

Experience :
>Experience with solvent-based ink is preferred (training can be provided for Fresh graduates)
>Understanding of ink properties such as viscosity, adhesion, rheology and printability
>Familiarity with laboratory instrument (grind gause, viscometer, spectrophotometer, run tester
>Good understanding of chemical safety protocols and proper handling of solvents, additives and pigments
>Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in ink manufacturing
>Basic knowledge of quality control (QC) procedures and documentation practices
>Willingness to be TRAINED and LEARN NEW techniques, especially for Fresh Graduates.
