Job Description

The Sales and Marketing Director is a senior leadership role responsible for driving a company's revenue growth through effective sales strategies and marketing campaigns.

Strategic Responsibilities

Develop Sales & Marketing Strategy:
Create comprehensive strategies aligned with overall business goals.
Set long-term and short-term sales targets and marketing objectives.
Market Analysis & Positioning:
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
Identify growth opportunities and develop positioning strategies.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Prepare and manage budgets for sales and marketing departments.
Forecast sales targets and track ROI of marketing initiatives.
Sales Responsibilities

Sales Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and lead sales teams.
Set sales targets and performance metrics; monitor progress.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM):
Oversee key client relationships and high-value negotiations.
Ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Channel & Territory Management:
Develop and manage sales channels (e.g., B2B, B2C, distributors).
Optimize regional or territory performance.
Marketing Responsibilities

Brand Management:
Develop and maintain a strong brand image across all platforms.
Oversee content creation, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
Digital Marketing Oversight:
Lead SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, and online campaigns.
Monitor web analytics and adjust strategies accordingly.
Product Launches & Campaigns:
Coordinate product or service launches.
Manage end-to-end marketing campaigns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Interdepartmental Coordination:
Work with product development, finance, and operations teams.
Ensure sales and marketing activities align with company capabilities.
Reporting to Executive Leadership:
Present performance reports, market insights, and strategic plans.
Recommend adjustments based on performance and market shifts.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Common majors: Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, Communications, or a related field.
Master’s Degree (preferred or required in senior roles)
MBA with a concentration in Marketing, Sales, or Strategy is often preferred.
Professional Experience

8–15+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing roles.
Proven leadership experience, typically including 3–5+ years in a senior or director-level position.
Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets.
Certifications (optional but beneficial)

Certified Sales Executive (CSE) – Sales Management Association
Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) certifications – UK-based but globally recognized
Digital Marketing Certification – from HubSpot, Google, or LinkedIn Learning
PMP or similar – if overseeing complex marketing projects
