Legal Director

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Strategy and Compliance:
Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Advise on legal risks and opportunities related to business operations.
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage the legal department or legal team.
Work closely with executive leadership, such as the CEO and Board of Directors.
Provide mentorship and oversight to in-house counsel and legal staff.
Contract Management:
Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts.
Review major commercial agreements, M&A activity, and vendor partnerships.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
Manage or supervise any litigation or disputes.
Work with external counsel when necessary.
Corporate Governance:
Ensure the company adheres to good governance practices.
Support board and shareholder meetings, including preparing resolutions and documentation.
Regulatory and Risk Management:
Monitor regulatory changes affecting the business.
Develop policies to mitigate legal risks.
Qualifications:

Law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
License to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Typically 10+ years of legal experience, including at least several years in a leadership role.
Experience in corporate law, compliance, litigation, and/or sector-specific regulation.
