Accounting staff

Purpose of the position:

The Accounting Staff for Credit and Collection is responsible for managing the company’s accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding accounts, maintaining accurate customer records, and coordinating with clients to resolve billing issues. This role helps to safeguard the company’s financial health by minimizing bad debts and improving cash flow.

Key responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain customer accounts to ensure timely collection of payments.
• Follow up on overdue accounts via calls, emails, and official correspondence.
• Prepare and send billing statements and invoices to clients.
• Reconcile accounts receivable transactions.
• Investigate and resolve customer queries regarding billing or payments.
• Prepare aging reports and update management on collection status.
• Coordinate with the sales and billing departments regarding discrepancies.
• Process and post daily collections and payment entries.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of all collection activities.
• Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off when necessary.
• Assist in monthly closing activities and audit requirements.
Qualifications, knowledge, skills required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in credit and collection or a related accounting role is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
