Job Description

The Accounting Head is responsible for overseeing the overall accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires strong leadership, expertise in both manual Excel-based processes and accounting systems, as well as sound technical skills in financial analysis, internal controls, and audit compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, payroll, and tax compliance.

Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Maintain organized, accurate, and timely records of all financial transactions using both manual Excel worksheets and automated accounting systems.

Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.

Ensure timely filing and payment of government-mandated taxes and contributions (e.g., BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).

Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and coordinate with auditors during financial audits.

Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies.

Train and mentor junior accounting staff in both manual and system-based processes.

Collaborate with other departments for financial planning and reporting support.

Recommend and implement improvements in accounting procedures and systems.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field; CPA preferred.

At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Strong proficiency in MS Excel (manual ledgering, pivot tables, formulas, etc.).

Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or company-specific ERP).

Knowledge of PH tax laws, GAAP, and relevant regulatory compliance.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
