Job Description
actions for material and contractor services, requests engineering services when needed and maintains liaison with Production
Department Groups as to job progress and the solution of problems developing with issue material lists, job orders and work
specifications.
• Prepares detailed job orders for maintenance, repair and alteration of ships, craft and other requesting activities.
• Develops material requirements by determining quantity and types of material required for each job; prepares appropriate material lists.
• Conduct ship checks/ inspections.
• Conducts analysis of work to be accomplished in terms of accepted trade standards and practices, applicable specifications and drawing /
sketches.
• Prepares comprehensive work packages.
• Assigns work to work centers/shops in the most efficient job sequence.
• Develops estimates of total manhour requirements and labor costs by shop.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Educational Attainment:
• At least Graduate any engineering related courses. With training in Marine Structural, Electrical or Mechanical trades.
Work Experience:
• With at least five (5) years work experience in the Marine Structural, Electrical or Mechanical trades in a Ship Repair Industry, including
two (02) years as a planner and estimator, ship surveyor or shop planner.
Other Skills:
• Computer literate.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
