Labtech Engineer

Job Summary
The Structural Lab Technician/Engineer is responsible for assisting in the setup, execution, and documentation of structural tests on materials, components, and systems. This role supports research, product development, quality control, or structural verification by conducting physical testing in a lab environment according to standardized procedures and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate test equipment (e.g., hydraulic actuators, load cells, strain gauges, displacement transducers).
Prepare and assemble test specimens according to test protocols and drawings.
Conduct structural testing (e.g., static load testing, fatigue testing, destructive and non-destructive testing).
Record test data accurately using data acquisition systems and software.
Analyze results and prepare test reports in collaboration with engineers.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, test standards (ASTM, ISO, ACI, etc.), and company procedures.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning and calibration.
Assist engineers in developing new test procedures and custom test setups.
Troubleshoot equipment issues during testing.
Coordinate with vendors and clients when necessary for custom test arrangements or reporting.
