Job Description
The Medical Coder trainee undergoes extensive medical coding education in preparation to providing coding services on inpatient, outpatient, physician, or emergency room medical records using the latest appropriate International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding systems.
Job Functions:
➢ Review and learn the relevant medical terminologies, human anatomy and physiology related
to medical coding, auditing and medical records abstraction.
➢ Attain and maintain the metrics required for this level of job position.
➢ To be ready to take on live production work when required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical, Allied Medical or Life Sciences courses or equivalent in relevant clinical work experience
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Proficient personal computer, keyboarding skills and ability to adapt to computer software applications required in the performance of the work.
Detail-oriented and focused attention to work
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral English communication skills.
Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work.
Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
Knowledge of all coding guidelines and applications
Ability to deal with senior executives internal and external to MMGS.
Ability to adapt to fast-changing environment/change management skills
Must be willing to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig City.
