Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DATA ENGINEER to join our team on a 6- month contract basis.
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and datasets to support data-driven decisions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions, improve data quality, and ensure that data flows smoothly across systems. The Data Engineer will also be tasked with troubleshooting data-related issues and improving data processes.
This is dayshift and on-site position (4x a week on-site, once a week remote), with the opportunity to work from our client's office in MOA, Pasay City
What you'll be doing:
Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and data architectures.
Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data issues, providing solutions to address business questions and identify improvement opportunities.
Build processes supporting data transformation, metadata management, dependency management, and workload orchestration.
Collaborate with product teams, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality and alignment with business requirements.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases to develop solutions that manage large, complex datasets.
Optimize ETL processes and work with data governance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
Monitor and improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring timely and accurate data availability.
Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and systems.
Ensure data governance practices are followed, including data validation, data lineage, and quality checks.
What we're looking for:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or related quantitative field.
3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer or Data Operations role.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL databases
Hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines, data workflows and data architectures.
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, particularly AWS services such as Redshift, EC2, RDS, and S3.
Familiarity with data integration tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica, and Talend.
Experience with scripting languages like Python, Java, etc. for data engineering tasks.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently and in teams.
Strong focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement of data processes
Willing to work onsite (4x a week onsite, once a week remote) from our client's office in Pasay on a day shift under an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of an extension.
Willing to start work immediately.
