Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and professionally mature Finance Officer to join our educational institution in Silay City, Negros Occidental. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of finance experience in an educational setting, with a strong ability to analyze, review, and create comprehensive financial reports. As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the school, providing financial insights, and making strategic recommendations to the executive team.



Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare, review, and present accurate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to school executives, ensuring transparency and clarity in all financial matters.

Financial Analysis:
Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to assess the school’s financial performance. Identify trends, variances, and areas of concern that require attention, offering actionable insights.

Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the school's budget, including forecasting future financial needs, and ensure alignment with the institution’s goals and objectives.

Strategic Financial Guidance:
Provide strategic recommendations on financial matters, advising school leadership on cost-effective practices, investments, and opportunities for improvement.

Compliance & Auditing:
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal financial policies. Coordinate and support internal and external audits.

Cash Flow Management:
Oversee and manage the school’s cash flow, ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet operational needs and obligations.

Financial Systems Management:
Maintain and enhance the financial management system to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting.

Collaboration with Executives:
Present financial reports and findings to school executives, supporting informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Other Duties:
Assist with other finance-related tasks as required by the school leadership.

Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in a finance role within an educational institution or similar environment.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proficient in financial reporting and the ability to present financial data clearly and effectively.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to identifying opportunities for financial improvement.
