Position: Employee Relations Manager
Location: BGC, Taguig, Philippines
Industry: Retail (Air-conditioning, Refrigeration, and Car Aircon Parts and Supplies)
Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite
Job Summary:
The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for maintaining a healthy and productive workplace environment by addressing employee relations issues, managing employee grievances, and ensuring compliance with Philippine labor laws. This role involves creating and implementing effective employee engagement initiatives, managing labor relations strategies, and supporting overall employee satisfaction within the company. The ideal candidate will possess solid experience in employee relations management, with a strong understanding of labor laws, excellent communication skills, and proven leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations Strategy Development:
Develop and implement employee relations strategies to foster a positive work environment and ensure alignment with the company’s goals and values.
Grievance and Conflict Resolution:
Act as the primary point of contact for resolving employee grievances, conflicts, and disputes in a timely and professional manner. Investigate complaints, mediate disputes, and recommend appropriate actions.
Employee Engagement & Well-being:
Design and execute employee engagement programs that promote a positive workplace culture, enhance morale, and reduce turnover. Ensure initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
Labor Relations and Compliance:
Ensure the company’s adherence to Philippine labor laws, including the Labor Code, DOLE regulations, and other legal requirements. Manage union-related matters, if applicable, and work with legal teams to address any labor-related issues.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate closely with senior management, department heads, and other stakeholders to address employee relations matters and provide strategic advice on best practices.
Training and Development:
Conduct training sessions for managers and employees on employee relations matters, such as conflict resolution, grievance handling, and labor law compliance.
Policy Development & Implementation:
Review and recommend updates to company policies and procedures in line with labor laws and industry best practices. Ensure all policies are effectively communicated and implemented across the organization.
Employee Feedback & Survey Analysis:
Conduct regular employee surveys to gather feedback on engagement levels and work culture. Analyze results and recommend actions to improve employee satisfaction.
Project Management:
Lead and manage employee relations projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet company objectives. This includes implementing new initiatives and refining existing programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
HR-related certifications (e.g., HRBP, labor law certifications) are an advantage.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in employee relations management, with a solid background in handling labor relations, employee engagement, and grievance management in the retail or similar sector.
Proven experience managing and mentoring a team, with strong people management and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of Philippine labor laws and regulations (Labor Code, DOLE regulations, etc.)
Experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and managing sensitive employee matters.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work well with employees and management alike.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Well-versed in employee engagement strategies, conflict resolution, and labor relations practices.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Experience using HR systems, employee management tools, and other relevant software.
