Associate Cost

The Associate - Cost Accounting is responsible for assisting in the cost accounting activities within the organization. This role involves supporting the cost accounting team in analyzing costs, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate cost allocation. The Associate will also assist in maintaining cost accounting systems and procedures and providing insights to support decision-making.

Cost Analysis:

Assist in analyzing production costs, including material, labor, and overhead costs. 

Review cost variances and investigate discrepancies. 

Provide support in identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement

Cost Reporting:

Assist in preparing and maintaining cost reports and analyses. 

Compile data and generate cost reports for management review. 

Ensure accuracy and completeness of cost data.

Inventory Costing:

Assist in costing inventory items and valuing inventory. 

Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory discrepancies. 

Support the maintenance of inventory costing systems and procedures.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing cost data and analysis. 

Assist in preparing cost projections and forecasts. 

Monitor actual costs against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting procedures. 

Assist in implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

Participate in projects to streamline cost accounting processes

Data Management:

Maintain accurate and organized cost accounting records and documentation. 

Update and reconcile cost data in financial systems and databases. 

Ensure data integrity and consistency across cost accounting systems.

Compliance and Audit Support: 

Ensure compliance with cost accounting standards and regulations. 

Assist in preparing documentation and reports for audits and compliance reviews. 

Support internal and external auditors in conducting cost accounting audits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

Collaborate with other departments, such as production, procurement, and finance, to gather and analyze cost-related information. 

Provide support to operational teams by answering cost-related inquiries and providing insights.
