Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Tasked with providing routine user support, simple problem analysis and resolution, and
training for applications and software packages
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY/IES:
- Guides users in formulating requirements
- Analyzes business problems by using established procedures, knowledge of
pertinent work processes, and familiarity with applications systems
- Supports the department’s design, development, testing, implementation,
modification, and maintenance activities particularly in requirements definition,
quality assurance, training, and post-implementation review tasks
- Generates adhoc and specifically-handled production reports
- Documents and maintains records on implemented and ongoing projects and
applications systems
- Prepares user guides and procedure manuals and other pertinent documentation
- Conducts user training sessions on applications systems and software packages
- Provides on-call support and problem resolution for system users
- Updates knowledge of relevant technology and software
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned by superior from time to time

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:
Makes minor decisions related to the applications support system

MAJOR EXTERNAL CONTACTS (IF ANY):
Service providers and vendors/suppliers

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE AND/OR SPECIAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:
- College graduate – BS Computer Science, or any related course
- At least 1-year work experience
- Proficient in English, both oral and written communications
- Has strong work ethics and positive working attitude
- Can be trusted with confidential matters/documents to which incumbent has access
to
- Very analytical, creative, systematic, organized and neat
- Ability to communicate with users and evaluate their requirements
- Ability to test procedures and applications systems
- Ability to communicate clear and accurate instructions on how to operate
applications systems
- Ability to document work in progress
- Ability to document and maintain records on projects and applications system
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Ability to identify applications system problems and coordinate hardware and/or
software solutions
- Ability to analyze information and to make logical conclusions
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Knowledge of relevant computer software and hardware
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Has strong work ethics and positive working attitude
- Ability to grasp complex software, learn quickly and work within tight deadlines
