Job Description
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in taxation
Overall Function:
The Tax Officer ensures the company's compliance with taxation laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review check vouchers to verify proper withholding tax application.
Ensure accurate withholding tax deductions from client payments to the company.
Monitor timely and accurate tax remittances and submissions of BIR returns, reports, and requirements, including:
Quarterly and annual income tax remittances (including Summary of Alphabet of Withholding Taxes).
VAT returns and supporting documents (Summary of Purchases and Sales).
Quarterly and annual remittance of Fringe Benefits Tax.
Documentary Stamp Tax filings for applicable transactions.
Compute monthly current and deferred income tax provisions.
Prepare tax-related disclosures and supplementary reports for the Annual Financial Statements.
Address tax inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee the annual BIR registration of books of accounts for the Head Office and all branches, ensuring prompt information updates.
Compute and analyze monthly tax obligations.
Comply with BIR examination and tax assessment requirements, including reconciliations, responses to assessments, confirmations, and document submissions.
Liaise with the BIR and other government agencies on tax-related matters, in coordination with the Parent Company.
Conduct tax research and provide updates and advisory services to the Accounting and Finance Department (AFD) and other relevant units.
