Job Summary:
As a Cost Accounting Associate, you will play a key role in analyzing project costs, monitoring gross profit margins, and ensuring the financial success of our construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and track project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
Prepare and maintain detailed cost reports and budgets for construction projects.
Monitor gross profit margins and identify variances between estimated and actual costs.
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and profitability analysis.
Conduct regular reviews of job cost reports and provide insights to improve project performance.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve profitability.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of job costing, gross profit analysis, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices is a plus.
