Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist/Supervisor to oversee and manage various financial and accounting functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general accounting principles, payroll systems, and tax compliance, particularly with the TRAIN law. This role requires someone with 5-7 years of experience in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Computation
Ensure compliance with Philippine tax regulations, including those under the TRAIN law.
Accurately compute and prepare tax filings, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations.
Liaise with government agencies (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) for audits, inquiries, and reporting.
General Accounting
Manage the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports.
Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
Payroll and Payroll Systems
Supervise payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues.
Team Supervision and Leadership
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
Review and approve work completed by team members for accuracy.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a strong advantage.
5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting, with supervisory responsibilities.
Proficient in payroll systems and accounting software.
Up-to-date knowledge of TRAIN law and other Philippine tax regulations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
