Job Description

Job Summary:
The Healthcare Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional service to patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction. The role involves answering calls, processing claims, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and providing general assistance related to healthcare services. The ideal candidate is empathetic, patient-focused, and capable of navigating complex healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Answer inbound calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding healthcare services, billing, insurance coverage, and appointment scheduling.
- Provide accurate information to patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clarity and understanding of policies and procedures.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing patient flow.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with benefits verification, claims status, and co-payments.
- Handle patient complaints and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner, providing solutions and escalating issues when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare services, billing procedures, and insurance requirements.
- Assist in resolving insurance claim issues by working with third-party payers, providing necessary documentation, and following up as needed.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations, such as HIPAA, by safeguarding patient information.
- Accurately update and maintain patient records in the database.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and maintaining patient documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare customer service or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology, insurance policies, and billing processes is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with healthcare software (EMR/EHR systems) is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
