JOB DESCRIPTION:
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Head of the Finance and Accounting Department for a Real Estate Start-up would oversee all Financial Strategic processes and transactions that ensure organizational directions to sustain its objectives and vision. The Department head is also entrusted overseeing all of the Accounting procedures that maintains its quality and accuracy meeting the expectations of the organization. The Department head will be responsible for the following but not limited to financial planning including preparation and monitoring of budgets, presentation of financial statements and other related financial planning activities that are responsible for the operations of the company in relation with collections from customers, releases of commissions and compliance to government agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCIAL PLANNING:
• Provides financial perspective on the important risks and opportunities facing the Company and creates relevant scenarios based on planned cash flows and revenue targets.
• Develops funding and resource allocation to prepare for projected financial targets in the short/medium/long term (income, expenses, major operational strategies, etc).
• Prove high-level/strategic leadership and direction in Financial Growth Strategies for the company.
• Prepare financial forecasts by developing financial status, analyzing variances, reporting results, and recommending adjustments based on financial outlook.
• Prepare and present a complete set of Financial Statements to Directors.
• Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Updates and keeps the Directors informed on the financial conditions of the Company as these relate to critical factors affecting its business and growth strategies.
• Provides adequate financial controls that need to be implemented to strengthen risk management in the accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
OPERATIONS:
• Lead and review the filing of BIR Forms (VAT, ITR, EWT, DST and others)
• Ensure timely release of commissions and disbursement checks
• Monitor 100% collection of equity payments from customers
• Reviews payroll and compensation and government contributions
• Ensure compliance with SEC, BIR and LGU
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 10 years of work experience in the Accounting and Finance Department
• Proven expertise as a Finance Manager with at least 5 years’ leadership exposure
• Preferably with a real estate developer
• Preferably Certified Public Accountant
• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or equivalent
• Experience with preparation and analysis of financial reports
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Experience with BIR regulatory and taxation compliance filings
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, or Xero would be a major plus
• Excellent leadership skills
REQUIRED PROFICIENCIES AND TRAITS:
• Has strong business acumen and professional communication skills in both English and Filipino.
• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Proficient with MS Office, with exceptional knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
