Job Description

An accounting assistant's job is to record and track financial transactions, and to help prepare financial reports and documents. They also perform administrative tasks related to finances and payment processing.
Responsibilities
Record financial transactions: Track and record financial transactions, and ensure their accuracy
Prepare financial reports: Analyze financial information to develop accurate financial statements and reports
Prepare financial documents: Assist with the preparation of invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements: Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and no discrepancies
Process payroll: Gather and input relevant data to support payroll processing
Assist with audits: Assist with audits or fact-checking
Prepare budgets: Assist with preparing budgets and reports
Follow up on money owed: Follow up on money that is owed, and answer any questions about bills
