Job Description
Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents such as contracts, wills, pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence. Ensure documents comply with legal standards and format requirements.
Case Management: Assist in managing case files, including organizing, maintaining, and tracking important case documents and deadlines. Ensure all documentation is complete and filed correctly.
Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather information, schedule appointments, and update them on the status of their cases. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with clients.
Court Filings and Legal Procedures: Assist with filing documents in court, either electronically or in person. Ensure that legal documents are submitted in accordance with court procedures and deadlines.
Preparation for Trials: Assist lawyers in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings. This may include preparing exhibits, creating trial notebooks, and organizing witness lists.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support by handling scheduling, coordinating meetings, managing calendars, and answering phones.
Billing and Invoicing: Track billable hours and assist in the preparation of invoices for clients or cases, ensuring accurate record-keeping for the legal team.
Correspondence and Communication: Prepare and send correspondence to clients, witnesses, experts, and other involved parties. This includes letters, emails, and official notices.
Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure that all legal work adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines. Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
