Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for FMCG is responsible for overseeing the sales operations within a designated region, ensuring that sales targets and objectives are met, and driving business growth. The role involves managing a team of sales representatives, building strong relationships with distributors and retailers, and executing strategies to enhance brand visibility and market share for the company's fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets.
- Identify growth opportunities in the region and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Manage the sales forecasting process for the region and ensure that targets are met.
Team Management:
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and development opportunities.
- Organize regular team meetings to review sales performance, discuss challenges, and share best practices.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers to ensure profitable business terms.
- Address customer complaints and issues to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Market Development:
- Identify new business opportunities and potential markets for product expansion.
- Ensure effective market penetration through strategic promotional activities and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute product launches and promotions.
Sales Performance and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze sales data to assess performance against targets.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Manage the regional sales budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness in sales operations.
- Optimize the use of resources to achieve the best ROI (Return on Investment).
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and regulations.
- Maintain high ethical standards in all business dealings and relationships.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of five (5) years in sales management within the FMCG sector, with at least two (2) years in a regional management role.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the FMCG market dynamics, including distribution channels and retail strategies.
