Business Unit Head - Transport Operations

The Head of Transportation is pivotal in managing and optimizing our trucking operations. This position involves supervising business unit heads, coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless transportation services. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles
Plan, organize, and manage subordinate members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs
Proactively identify opportunities, implement cost-efficient measures and continuous improvement within the day-to-day operational activities, and to engage with the internal customers for feedback on opportunities to improve customer satisfaction
Analyze transportation costs and the delivery process
Provide active assistance to meet schedules and resolve complex issues.
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints
Provide strategic direction for the transportation department, aligning with overall company goals.
Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement transportation strategies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Supervise and mentor business unit heads, including fleet managers, dispatchers, and maintenance teams.
Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and promote professional growth.
Ensure effective communication across all levels of the transportation team.
Monitor daily transportation activities, including route planning, load scheduling, and driver assignments.
Address operational challenges promptly and implement corrective actions.
Optimize fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation operations.
Regularly review performance metrics related to on-time delivery, driver productivity, and cost control.
Collaborate with external carriers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure seamless transportation services.
Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and licensing.
Promote a safety-first culture among drivers and transportation staff.
Investigate accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures.
Monitor expenses related to fuel, maintenance, and equipment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, Industrial Engineering or other Logistics related degree preferred
At least 5-6 years experience in Transportation, Trucking or Logistics industry
A self-directed individual able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and business conditions
Strong communication skills necessary to building working relationships and positively influence decision making
Organizational and Time Management Abilities
Proficiency in using transportation software and analytics tools.
Must be willing to work onsite in Bulacan
