A customer service representative (CSR) is responsible for interacting with customers on behalf of a company to answer questions, address concerns, and resolve issues:
Customer service: Provide excellent customer service, anticipate customer needs, and ensure customer satisfaction
Communication: Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner via phone, email, chat, or social media
Problem-solving: Use problem-solving skills to address customer issues and resolve conflicts
Documentation: Document all inquiries, requests, resolutions, and follow-up tasks
Escalation: Escalate questions and requests to the appropriate departments or people
Product knowledge: Maintain expert knowledge about company products or services
Process orders: Process orders, forms, applications, and requests
Meetings: Participate in meetings with the customer service team to discover new communication tactics
Some qualifications and skills that a CSR may need include:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good documentation skills
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word
* Sound problem-solving skills
* Willingness to learn and progress through the levels of customer support
