Job Description
Responsible in the daily physical progress or work on ships availability by following up movement of materials and work through various manufacturing and repair phases.
Supervises, Coordinates, schedules and reports on all works assigned to the Ship Repair for overhaul, conversion, upgrades, and other special projects as assigned, including Systems Alignments
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determines causes of delays and makes recommendations for corrective actions or revisions of schedules.
Works closely with Ship Superintendents in coordinating shop operations aboard ship and recommends changes in manning to higher supervision when considered advisable.
During the progress work, the incumbent participates closely with key shop personnel in the evaluation and review of projects data/information necessary for re-scheduling on expediting or works/projects.
Provides recommendations/suggestions in the identification of job operation within the critical path of project schedule.
Using schedules work authorization, manning curves and engineering plans and specifications determines key points of work requiring close coordination or follow-up.
Follows up preliminary work stated in shops and aboard ships, and expedites it, when required by arranging for delivery of engineering plans, equipments and supplies.
Daily determines the physical progress of work during the ship availability by following up the movement of materials and work through various manufacturing and repair phases as necessary.
Updates actual status, notes down actual or anticipated delays and prepares/submits progress report on a daily or weekly basis as deemed necessary.
Upon completion of work, prepares report and provides data on shop performance in meeting schedules, quality and productivity standards and attends to prompt close out of work orders.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
• Graduate of any engineering related courses (preferably Industrial Engineering courses) or any formal related technical training courses.
Experience:
• At least 5 years related experience in a shipyard industry.
Others:
• Computer literate, knowledgeable in Microsoft Project.
• Good communication and personal relation
