Job Description
Manage the care and breeding of livestock, such as cattle, poultry, pigs, and sheep. Ensure proper nutrition, housing, health care, and reproductive management to maximize productivity and profitability. Monitor animal welfare and implement biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
Assess soil fertility, structure, and composition, and implement soil conservation practices, such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and contour plowing, to improve soil health and prevent erosion. Manage water resources efficiently through irrigation scheduling, water recycling, and conservation practices to minimize water usage and environmental impact.
Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to control pests, weeds, and diseases while minimizing reliance on chemical pesticides. Monitor pest populations, implement biological and cultural control methods, and use chemical treatments judiciously and in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
