Sr. Ruby on Rails Developer - Remote

Role Summary:

As a Senior Ruby on Rails Full Stack Engineer, you be required to develop full stack web applications that deliver on our commitment to enhancing healthcare outcomes. Your expertise in Ruby on Rails and experience with both front- and back-end frameworks, , will drive the creation of the next iteration of one of our innovative solutions.



Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.

Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic, (AngularJS expertise a bonus).

Identify performance bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.

Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle and best practices.



Requirements:

At least 7 years of experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec, Resque, Devise, etc.

Proficient understanding of front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, and ideally experience with AngularJS.

A solid understanding of object-oriented programming, good coding practices, and database concepts.

At least 3 years experience working in a senior developer role, including demonstrated examples of contribution to technical design, implementation and testing

Experience with test-driven development, preferably BDD (behaviour-driven development), including processes and common frameworks such as Cucumber

Experience with upgrading Rails projects from earlier versions of Rails and Ruby

Understanding of JRuby and typical Rails production deployment scenarios
