Job Description

Position: Senior WordPress Developer

Location: Remote/Manila

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a skilled and versatile English-speaking Senior WordPress Developer with extensive experience in WordPress. This role demands proficiency in both front-end and back-end development with a knack for problem-solving and collaboration together as a close-knit team. You will be at the forefront of web development, leading projects and troubleshooting, ensuring our clients' websites deliver top-notch performance and an outstanding user experience.

This role requires a technical leader who can work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. You should be highly capable with WordPress, MySQL, PHP, Javascript and have strong project management skills with a strong portfolio to review.

This role requires you have at least 5 years of WordPress development experience. You must also be familiar and comfortable with building, maintaining and supporting websites built in Elementor.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee project management: ensuring timely delivery of web development projects, manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Conduct website testing and debugging to ensure functionality across all devices and browsers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including designers, content creators, and support staff - to deliver comprehensive web solutions.
Communicate effectively with clients over email and, if necessary, video/phone calls to understand their requirements and provide regular project updates.
Ensure websites are SEO-friendly and follow best practices for accessibility and usability.
Provide maintenance and support for existing client websites, including updates and troubleshooting.
Create development proposals and assist in project specifications.
Review and address development tasks; update clients on project progress via email, phone or video calls.
Lead the design and development of responsive websites using predominantly WordPress and Elementor.
Implement new features and improvements for clients, ensuring high-quality code and visually appealing designs.
Engage with clients to spec project work and manage communication.
Oversee project proposals and related contracts, invoices, payments, and administration.
Create and manage projects on Teamwork (teamwork.com)
Develop project plans, budgets, timelines, and milestones; track progress and log time.
Ensure effective communication among stakeholders and team members.
Maintain quality assurance and manage project budgets and resources.
Conduct project evaluations, documentation, and reviews.
Develop and improve internal processes; conduct weekly departmental reviews.
Assist in onboarding new clients and be involved in hiring processes.
Respond to second-line support tickets and perform development and maintenance tasks.
Assist with technical tasks such as website transfers, configuration and troubleshooting.
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in WordPress development
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP / MySQL.
Proficiency in project management.
Ability to work with external data sources and APIs
An interest in continuously discovering, evaluating, and implementing new technologies to maximise development efficiency.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other members of the team
Proven experience with WordPress page builders (such as Elementor) with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and best practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices
Not Essential But Desirable Skills:

Experience with Squarespace and/or WebFlow design and customisation.
Knowledge of additional page builders and CMS platforms.
Working knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or equivalent such as Figma.
Knowledge of A.I. building tools.
Basic knowledge of digital marketing and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console).
Familiarity with SEO best practices and website performance optimisation.

Hours:

9am - 5:30pm London Time (GMT/BST) Monday - Friday.
You will get a 1 hour lunch break.
Working Environment:

You will have your own computer with an adequate internet connection.
You will be connected by voice communications to the entire team during every shift (for the first 6 months) so will require a quality headset/microphone.
You can work from home or anywhere you want as long as you are not using a shared network connection (i.e. you cannot work with us using a public wifi connection due to data security).
Living in Metro Manila or able to commute easily, if necessary.
