Job Description
1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of plumbing engineers, designers, and technicians.
2. Delegate tasks, provide technical guidance, and ensure that team members meet project deadlines and quality standards.
3. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
4. Oversee the planning, design, execution, and completion of plumbing-related projects.
5. Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
6. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
7. Lead the design and specification of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, gas piping, and fire protection systems.
8. Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
9. Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to completion.
10. Ensure that all plumbing systems comply with local, state, and federal building codes, as well as industry standards.
11. Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
12. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
13. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on plumbing-related projects.
14. Present design concepts, project plans, and progress updates to clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
15. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with project outcomes.
16. Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the plumbing engineering department.
17. Identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and areas for growth within the department.
18. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in plumbing engineering.
19. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials.
20.Approve expenditures related to plumbing projects and oversee procurement processes.
21. Monitor project financials and report on budget performance to senior management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing engineering or related fields, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification in plumbing or mechanical engineering is required.
4. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
5. In-depth knowledge of plumbing design, installation, and maintenance.
6. Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
7. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
8. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
9. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including ASME, ANSI, and local plumbing codes.
