Job Description
• Handles litigation of new cases (i.e., civil, criminal, labor, etc.).
• Coordinates with handling lawyers and/or pertinent Company officers and employees with respect to legal cases in order to reach the best or desired outcome.
• Closely monitors the status of all endorsed cases to ensure the proper handling of the same.
2. Legal Advice and Legal Reporting - Reviews, evaluates and approves recommendations on policy enhancement, and other company legal matters to ensure that these are within the bound of law, jurisprudence and company policies.
• Reviews policies endorsed by the other departments of the Company, particularly on its legal implications, as well as to interpret any vague or ambiguous provision of Company policies as needed
• Conducts and/or assists in special administrative investigations upon designation as needed
• Provides legal opinions and counseling on all verbal and written requests.
• Conducts researches on legal issues upon request.
3. Corporate Governance and Compliance
• Sets internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
• Enforces regulations in all aspects and levels of the business as well as provide guidance on compliance matters.
4. Contracts Management
• Prepares, reviews and interprets all company contracts and ensures that the same are within the bounds of law, jurisprudence, company practice and policy.
• Develops and maintains standard contracts for use by all plants and/or corporate offices.
• Ensures that all endorsed business transactions of the Company are covered with contracts to ensure that the Company’s interests are duly protected.
• Prepares and reviews all other legal documents endorsed by plants and/or corporate offices for review and ensures that the same are within the bounds of law, jurisprudence, company practice and policy.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
