Sr. Manager - Agriculturist

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement agricultural strategies aligned with the company’s goals.

2. Manage budget allocations and financial planning for agricultural projects.

3. Supervise daily agricultural operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.

4. Monitor crop health and implement pest and disease control measures.

5. Ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of agricultural machinery and equipment.

6. Lead and mentor a team of agronomists, farm managers, and laborers.

7. Conduct regular training sessions to update the team on the latest agricultural techniques and technologies.

8. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.

9. Stay updated with the latest agricultural research and innovations.

10. Implement new technologies and practices to improve crop yield and quality.

11. Conduct trials and experiments to optimize agricultural processes.

12. Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and standards.

13. Promote environmental conservation and resource management initiatives.

14. Liaise with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders.

15. Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities and government bodies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in agricultural management, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.

3. Preferably with international work experience but not required.

4. Experience with large-scale farming operations.

5. Strong leadership and team management abilities.

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Proficiency in agricultural software and technology.

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

9. Knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices.

10. Ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions and market demands.

11. Fluency in relevant languages.

12. Willing to travel locally and internationally.
