Job Description

DUTIES, RESPONSBILITIES
1. Budget Development:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop detailed budgets aligned with organizational goals.
- Prepare budget guidelines, templates, and instructions for budget owners.

2. Budget Monitoring and Control:
- Monitor budget performance on a regular basis, identifying variances and providing explanations to management.
- Implement budget controls and procedures to ensure compliance and prevent overspending.

3. Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to support short-term and long-term planning.
- Update forecasts based on actual performance and changes in business conditions.

4. Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data and analysis.

5. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including budget vs. actuals analysis, variance reports, and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
- Present financial information to senior management and other stakeholders.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with department heads and project managers to gather budget inputs, review spending plans, and address budget-related issues.
- Serve as a resource and provide guidance on budget-related matters.

7. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the budgeting process, including the use of technology and automation.
- Implement best practices and standardize processes across the organization.

8. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualification Standards
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
- Knowledge of budgeting best practices and financial regulations.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
