Job Description

Job description:

1. QA Process Knowledge
a. Experience with Software Development Life Cycle and CMMI standards of the organization.
b. Understands various approaches used in testing.
c. Able to apply appropriate test design techniques in writing Test Cases.
d. Creates test effort estimation based on the provided requirements for small to large sized projects
e. Develops effective test strategies and plans. Creates a Master Test Plan.
f. Reviews Test Cases and Test Scripts written by any team members. Make recommendations as necessary.
g. Able to apply appropriate test design techniques in writing Test Cases.
h. Writes Test Cases and Test Scripts, Creates Test Data and Requirement Traceability Matrix.
i. Properly executes the given test cases / test scripts, identifies the correct behavior of the system under test, replicates and reports uncovered defects.
j. Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality. Executes functional, application and regression tests for software releases.
k. Writes clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and functional defects based on testing results.
l. Writes and submits Test Summary Report and/or Test Acceptance Certificate.
m. Facilitates the Peer Review of the RTM, Test Cases and Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate.
n. Reviews and analyzes test results and makes recommendations.
o. Enforces quality procedures and guidelines across the Software Development Life Cycle.
p. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the QA procedures and guidelines.
q. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into details, abstract up low-level information to a general understanding, and classify user requests between must have and not.
r. Deliver the following documents as needed Functional Requirements and Use Cases by proactively communicating and collaborating with customers to analyze information needs and business requirements.
s. Satisfy customer by providing clear testing specifications and quality product according to specified requirements.
t. Collaborates with Automation Quality Analysts for the initiation of automation testing for the project if possible.
u. Exhibits confidence in understanding the business concerns and provides sound business suggestions and recommendations accordingly.

2. Administrative
a. Records activities in ATLAS and reports/elevates issues to superior when needed;
b. Conducts needed audit to ensure compliance to the procedures in CMMI;
c. Prepares and submits of needed reports;
d. Able to lead testing activities and handle and resolve minor risks and issues.
e. Mentors and Guides Manual Quality Analyst I and II.

3. Teamwork
a. Closely coordinates with other team members of the applications development and support.
b. Facilitates effective team interaction adhering to the values of the company and meeting the objectives.
c. Ability to flexibly adjust to help other team members to ensure continuity of providing service.

4. Learning and Development
a. Expand knowledge on business process and IT related information;
b. Stay abreast of current technology, system information, problems, changes and updates relevant to the team

Job qualifications:

The candidate must have:
At least five (5) years working experience in Quality Assurance and/or testing;
At least 1 year experience in API Testing, SQL Scripting and Automation testing experience
Obtained a Bachelor’s or College degree in either of the following - Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and/or related field.
Must be proficient in writing test cases and test scripts;
Must have an experience in creating a Master test plan;
Must have an in-depth understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies and SDLC (both Waterfall and Agile Development)
With extensive knowledge of QA testing tools, different test approaches, standards and process;
Exposure in business operations related to manufacturing, distribution and financial operations will be an advantage
Experience in various system development environment;
Experience in leading a QA team in small to medium sized projects.
ISTQB Testing Certification is a plus but not required.
