Job Description
SALARY RANGE : 50,000 – 70,000
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is primarily responsible understanding and articulating expressed
and unexpressed market needs and how they translate into the product roadmap and the rollout of products
per Market Segment. He/She coordinates, and oversees development and management of new products and
services for both existing and new markets.
The job incumbent is in charge of product development from inception to launch process, ensuring that
projects are planned and facilitated based on the market trends, customer needs, competitive landscape and
profitability. The BDM ensures that the projects are efficiently managed in accordance with product
development standards and procedures, and monitors product performance. He/she liaises with partners,
suppliers and relevant parties in different channels as needed to secure each product’s existence and
optimization.
The BDM works with the marketing and sales teams to ensure that their products meet customers’ needs and
expectations. The role involves managing budgets and resources as well as working with vendors, contractors,
suppliers, and other external stakeholders involved in building a new product or service.

At least 12 years of relevant work experience,

1. Analyzing market trends: A Business Development
Manager should possess the ability to interpret and
analyze market trends, identify potential
opportunities and threats, and develop strategies to
capitalize on emerging trends.
2. Conducting market research: He/She should have
expertise in designing and executing market research
programs, including both qualitative and quantitative
research methods, to gather insights into customer
needs, preferences, and behaviors.
3. Design Thinking Process: He/She must have the
expertise in leading the creative process of
generating, developing and communication new ideas
for products and services. He must be knowledgeable
of various ideation techniques to manage the entire

the Problem Statement, Ideation, Prototype
Development/Procurement and Testing.
4. Business Case Development: He/She must have
proficient skills in developing a business case which
includes market information, competitive landscape,
consumer needs, product design, competitive
positioning, prototype development plan, testing
plan, go-to market programs and profitability analysis.
3. Collaborating with stakeholders: He/She should be
adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams,
including sales, marketing, product development, and
finance, to ensure that market insights are effectively
integrated into business decisions and strategies.
