Cloud Performance Engineer

Qualifications
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 6 years of experience in performance engineering, with a focus on cloud-based systems.
3. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
4. Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or similar.
5. Experience with APM (Application Performance Monitoring) tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or AppDynamics.
6. Solid understanding of web application architecture, including HTTP, REST APIs, and microservices.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues.
8. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
9. Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar are a plus.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing the performance and scalability of our cloud-based systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and efficiency. This role requires deep expertise in cloud performance testing, analysis, and optimization techniques, as well as strong collaboration skills to work closely with development and operations teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and execute performance testing strategies for cloud-based applications and systems.
2. Identify performance bottlenecks, resource constraints, and scalability issues in cloud environments.
3. Develop performance benchmarks and metrics to measure and track system performance over time.
4. Analyze performance test results and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.
5. Collaborate with development teams to incorporate performance considerations into the design and development process.
6. Work closely with operations teams to implement performance monitoring and alerting solutions.
7. Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure adequate resources for current and future workloads.
8. Automate performance testing and monitoring processes using scripting languages and automation tools.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud performance testing and optimization.
10. Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge and best practices with the broader team.
