Software Firmware & Electronics QA

Job Role & Responsibilities
 Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for software, firmware, and electronic components including the Kanary software platform and IoT devices.
 Collaborate with the development team to understand product designs and specifications.
 Perform manual and automated testing to identify, document, and resolve defects.
 Work with hardware and software tools to simulate and test product environments.
 Analyze test data and report findings to the development team and management.
 Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
 Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field, including software, firmware, and testing tools.
 Assist in the development of quality assurance policies and procedures.
 Collaborate effectively with software developers, firmware engineers, electronic hardware designers, and management to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and drive quality improvements throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications/ Skills:
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, specifically with software and firmware testing.
 Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
 Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages.
 Knowledge of electronics and experience with hardware testing is highly desirable.
 Preferred Skills:
 Certifications in Quality Assurance or related fields.
 Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
 Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
