Quality Assurance Engineer – Software/ Firmware/ Electronic

The Software, Firmware, and Electronics QA Engineer will play a critical role in our product
development lifecycle. This role will be vital for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of
our software, firmware, and electronic systems, including our Kanary software platform and IoT
devices.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans to
ensure that all products meet our rigorous quality standards before they reach the customer.

Job Role & Responsibilities
 Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for software, firmware, and
electronic components including the Kanary software platform and IoT devices.
 Collaborate with the development team to understand product designs and specifications.
 Perform manual and automated testing to identify, document, and resolve defects.
 Work with hardware and software tools to simulate and test product environments.
 Analyze test data and report findings to the development team and management.
 Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
 Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product
designs, schedules, or potential problems.
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field, including software, firmware, and testing tools.
 Assist in the development of quality assurance policies and procedures.
 Collaborate effectively with software developers, firmware engineers, electronic hardware
designers, and management to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and drive quality
improvements throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications/ Skills:

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, specifically with software and firmware testing.
 Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
 Experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages.
 Knowledge of electronics and experience with hardware testing is highly desirable.
 Preferred Skills:
 Certifications in Quality Assurance or related fields.
 Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
 Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
