Job Description

IMPORT SUPERVISOR/MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; additional certifications in logistics or import/export management are advantageous
• 3+ years of experience in import/export operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
• In-depth knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and international trade laws
• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and logistics operations
• Proficiency in import documentation, including customs clearance, shipping manifests, and import licenses
• Experience with import compliance, tariff classification, and duty drawback programs
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as ERP systems and import/export management software

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the importation process from order placement to delivery, ensuring compliance with import regulations and customs requirements
• Supervise a team of import specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate timely and cost-effective import shipments
• Ensure accurate and complete import documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents
• Monitor inbound shipments and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transit or customs clearance
• Maintain import records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Evaluate import procedures and processes to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customs authorities, and internal departments
• Stay informed about changes in import regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements that may impact import operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and inventory management, to support business objectives and mitigate supply chain risks.
