Respiratory Therapist

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the acre, evaluation and test of the patients suffering from complications related to the breathing system.
Ensures that all respiratory care, starting from diagnosis to therapeutic treatment is properly carried out.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Interviewing and examining patients
2.Teaching asthma patients how to properly inhale the aerosols
3.monitoring the oxygen levels in patient’s blood and adjusting treatment accordingly
4.Administering proper amounts of oxygen to patients
5.Providing artificial breathing – in the form of ventilators – to patients who cannot breathe on their own
6.Analyzing the amounts of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and pH levels in a patient’s blood
7.Testing individual lung capacities of patients
8.Draining mucus from patient’s lungs using chest physiotherapy
9.Adjusting medical machinery, as needed, to appropriately treat the patient
10.Pulmonary rehabilitation
11.Running diagnostic tests

JOB SPECIFICATIONS / SCOPE:

A. Minimum Education/Experience Requirred:
Graduate of a degree or minimum of an associate’s degree

B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Work well under pressure and in emergencies
Be detailed-oriented
Follow exact instructions
Work well in a team or alone
Have considerable computer proficiency

Patients, relatives, co-employees
