Responsibilities:

Installation:
Install and set up air conditioning and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Ensure proper placement of equipment and appropriate connections to electrical and ventilation systems.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of air conditioning systems.
Inspect, clean, and replace filters, coils, and other components as needed.
Check refrigerant levels and adjust as necessary.
Conduct regular system performance evaluations.
Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions or breakdowns in air conditioning systems.
Repair or replace defective components, such as compressors, motors, thermostats, or switches.
Perform emergency repairs and respond to service calls promptly.
Testing and Calibration:
Test and calibrate thermostats, controls, and other system components to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
Verify the accuracy of temperature and pressure readings.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate with clients to understand their air conditioning needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Explain the work performed and provide recommendations for future maintenance or upgrades.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to safety standards and regulations while performing tasks.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to the handling of refrigerants.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of all service and maintenance activities.
Document equipment specifications, repairs, and replacements.
Requirements:

Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a technical or vocational training program in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) or a related field.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as EPA 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
Experience:
Previous experience as an air conditioning technician is often preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing air conditioning systems.
Knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and HVAC principles.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
