Job Description
Job Roles and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in managing PeopleSoft environments. This role will focus on the administration, tuning, and migration of Oracle databases—including multi-tenant configurations—while also supporting PeopleSoft application components at the infrastructure level.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and manage Oracle databases, including setup, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning across various environments (Production, UAT, Test, Development).
Support PeopleSoft infrastructure components such as database schemas, integration broker queues, and batch processing interfaces.
Plan and execute server and database migrations, including multi-tenant DB architectures.
Collaborate with system administrators and application teams to configure and optimize PeopleSoft environments.
Analyze capacity and recommend hardware/software configurations for new environments and application instances.
Monitor database and application health using monitoring tools and proactively address performance and availability issues.
Implement and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle RAC).
Apply patches, perform upgrades, and handle impact analysis for Oracle DBs and PeopleSoft environments.
Contribute to ITIL-based operations including Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Management processes.
Document procedures, configurations, best practices, and migration plans.
Develop and maintain automation tools or scripts for database monitoring, maintenance, and deployment.
Provide assistance to development and operations teams for PeopleSoft code migrations, data imports/exports, and configuration activities.
Participate in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews for database-related incidents.
Analyze database performance metrics and produce reports/KPIs as required.

Job Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA with a strong understanding of multi-tenant (CDB/PDB) architecture.
Solid experience with PeopleSoft database administration, including schema management, connectivity, and integrations.
Deep knowledge of Oracle RDBMS (11g, 12c, 19c), including installation, configuration, patching, and tuning.
Proficiency in backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, and other Oracle tools.
Experience in performance tuning (SQL, PL/SQL, indexing, AWR/ASH reports).
Familiar with PeopleSoft Tools and Application components such as App Server, Web Server, Process Scheduler.
Skilled in Unix/Linux command-line operations and scripting (e.g., Shell, Bash).
Experience in database monitoring tools (OEM, Toad, Nagios, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in migrating Oracle databases to cloud environments (AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
Hands-on knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, or GoldenGate.
Familiarity with ITIL framework and associated tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
PeopleSoft upgrade or PeopleTools patching experience is a strong advantage.
Oracle DBA certification (OCP) or PeopleSoft Administrator certification is a plus.
