We are seeking a skilled Sanitary Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience working with stainless steel piping installation and be proficient in TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) welding to meet sanitary and hygienic standards, particularly in industries such as food processing, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceuticals. The Sanitary Welder will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing piping and materials conveying systems and ensuring all work meets stringent regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform TIG welding on stainless steel piping, plates, and components to sanitary standards (e.g., 3-A, ASME BPE).
Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
Fabricate and install sanitary piping, fittings, valves, and related systems.
Use orbital and laser welding machines and other precision equipment as required.
Ensure cleanliness of welds to prevent contamination (e.g., passivation, proper purging with argon).
Conduct weld inspections including visual inspections and bore-scope checks as needed.
Maintain documentation of weld logs and materials as needed for QC compliance.
Work collaboratively with Mechanical Supervisor, Technical Engineers, and fabricators.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma required.
Technical certification of NCIV or at least an NCII in GTAW.
Minimum 3 years of experience in sanitary welding or stainless steel fabrication.
Experience in food-grade, beverage, or pharmaceutical environments is highly preferred.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in TIG welding on thin-wall stainless steel tubing (typically 304/316L).
Knowledge of sanitary codes and standards (e.g., 3-A, ASME BPE).
Ability to perform clean, smooth welds free from defects and contamination.
Familiarity with pipe fitting and layout for sanitary systems.
Ability to use various hand tools, grinders, and purging equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Capable of lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces or elevated areas.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness and ability to communicate & share expertise in a team-oriented way.
