Job Description
Job Summary:
The Accounting and Finance Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations. This role includes bookkeeping, financial analysis, compliance with local tax and government regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Functions:
Record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger entries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collection and disbursements.
Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow activities.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all financial transactions.
Finance Functions:
Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support management decisions.
Monitor expenditures, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all BIR, SEC, and other regulatory requirements (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax).
Handle government filings such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR submissions (e.g., 1601E, 1701/1702, 2550M/Q).
Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
Ensure internal controls are followed and financial policies are updated.
Support risk management efforts related to finance and accounting activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license is an advantage but not always required.
At least 2–4 years of experience in accounting and finance roles.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or local software like EasyFS).
Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation and regulatory compliance.
