Job Description
Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Agent is responsible for promoting and selling technical products and services to customers while providing expert advice and support regarding product specifications, applications, and technical requirements. This role involves understanding the customer’s technical needs, presenting tailored solutions, and ensuring that the company’s products are effectively integrated into customer operations. The Technical Sales Agent plays a key role in driving sales while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through expert product knowledge and technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Generation & Lead Management
Identify leads: Generate leads through market research, referrals, networking, and cold calling. Identify potential customers who would benefit from technical products or services.
Qualify prospects: Engage in discussions with potential clients to assess their technical needs and determine which products or services best meet their requirements.
Sales presentations: Present and demonstrate products to potential clients, highlighting their features, benefits, and technical specifications.
Prepare proposals: Develop and present customized sales proposals, quotes, and presentations tailored to customer needs.

2. Technical Consultation & Product Expertise
Provide technical advice: Offer expert guidance and recommendations on how the company’s products or solutions meet the customer’s technical requirements and challenges.
Conduct product demonstrations: Perform product demonstrations, explain technical details, and ensure the client fully understands how to utilize the products effectively.
Answer technical inquiries: Address customers' technical questions and concerns, either during the sales process or after purchase, providing thorough explanations and solutions.

3. Sales Negotiation & Closing Deals
Negotiate terms: Work with customers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms of sale, and after-sales support to close sales effectively
Overcome objections: Handle and resolve objections related to product features, pricing, and technical capabilities to secure the deal.
Sales documentation: Prepare contracts, agreements, and sales orders, ensuring all terms are clear and mutually agreed upon by both parties.

4. Customer Relationship Management
Build relationships: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers to foster customer loyalty.
Customer follow-up: Conduct regular follow-ups with clients after the sale to ensure satisfaction, identify new sales opportunities, and resolve any technical issues they may encounter.
Provide after-sales support: Offer ongoing technical support to customers post-sale, ensuring smooth product installation, usage, and troubleshooting.

5. Market Research & Competitor Analysis
Monitor industry trends: Stay informed about the latest technological advancements, industry trends, and market demands to effectively present the company’s products.
Analyze competitors: Keep track of competitors’ offerings, pricing strategies, and marketing tactics, providing feedback to the team to adjust the sales approach when needed.
Identify new opportunities: Identify and pursue new markets and business opportunities that may benefit from the company’s technical solutions.

6. Collaboration with Internal Teams
Work with technical teams: Collaborate with product development, engineering, and customer support teams to understand technical specifications, resolve issues, and tailor solutions for customers.
Provide feedback: Share customer feedback with relevant teams to improve product offerings, sales materials, and overall service quality.
Team collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to align on goals, sales strategies, and target customers.

7. Sales Reporting & Administrative Duties
Track sales progress: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including customer interactions, quotes, and sales pipelines using CRM tools.
Sales reports: Submit regular reports to management, detailing sales performance, opportunities, and technical issues.
Document customer requirements: Record and document all customer requirements, technical specifications, and post-sales support needs for future reference.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field.
A background in sales, marketing, or business development is a plus (preferred but not required).
Experience:
At least 1-2 years of experience in technical sales, sales support, or a related field (e.g., technology products, industrial equipment, IT services).
Experience in client-facing roles with a strong focus on product presentations, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Prior knowledge or experience in [industry-specific products, e.g., software, hardware, industrial machinery, electronics] is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge: In-depth understanding of the company’s products/services and the technical aspects associated with them.
Sales skills: Strong sales acumen, with the ability to negotiate, close deals, and manage the full sales cycle.
Problem-solving ability: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns effectively and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to non-technical clients.
Customer-oriented: Focused on providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
