About the Role:
We're looking for a reliable and technically skilled Network and Server Administrator to support a U.S.-based client. You’ll be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the stability of their network and server infrastructure during off-hours. This is a key role that requires a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently on critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring & Incident Response
Monitor network circuits and respond to alerts
Troubleshoot router issues (Cisco, Juniper)
Open and follow up on tickets with telecom providers
Server Administration & Maintenance
Monitor system performance and resolve issues before they escalate
Perform routine tasks such as log rotation, disk cleanup, and backup verification
Tune system settings to prevent false alerts (e.g., during backups)
System Upgrades & Migration
Migrate websites from legacy LAMP servers to updated environments
Update and modernize legacy Perl scripts
Maintain up-to-date configurations for DNS, DHCP, SSH, and other services
Skills and Experience Required:
Strong Unix/Linux command line experience
Solid background in LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
Experience with router troubleshooting (Cisco/Juniper)
Proficiency in Perl scripting
Responsive to alerts with a strong sense of responsibility
