Job Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant Supervisor plays a key role in managing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality diagnostic testing standards. The position supports and assists the Laboratory Supervisor in monitoring laboratory personnel, maintaining equipment, and complying with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
-Licensed Medical Technologist (required)
-At least 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting
-Experience in supervising or leading a lab team is an advantage
-Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
-Proficient in laboratory techniques, equipment handling, and quality control
-Good communication and team management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise laboratory assistants and ensure smooth workflow within the lab
-Maintain accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results
-Oversee lab safety, hygiene, and proper handling of medical specimens
-Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
-Ensure availability of necessary supplies and reagents
-Collaborate with the Lab Supervisor in meeting regulatory compliance and audit readiness
-Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate equipment maintenance
-Uphold quality assurance protocols and infection control measures
