Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related course.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration. (Non-negotiable)
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in MSSQL Database Administration. (Non-negotiable)
- Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues.
Good to Have:
- Familiarity with database virtualization and containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies.
- Ability to work with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) beyond the "Must Have" options.
- Proficiency in using database monitoring and management tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, third-party monitoring tools).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data analytics.
Job Description
Install, administer, and maintain complex databases and related infrastructure components, ensuring uptime, performance, and security meet service level agreements.
Provide technical support for data center operations, application management, and risk management, assisting in database considerations for application optimization.
Research and apply industry best practices, ensuring the database infrastructure remains cost-effective and up to date.
Communicate with database vendors to handle product updates, fixes, and support requirements.
Perform regular database housekeeping, including system backups, vendor maintenance, and documentation updates.
Conduct capacity management by collecting statistics and forecasting growth, and ensure resource allocation when needed.
Recommend improvements based on performance reviews to correct inefficiencies and optimize performance.
Implement configuration management, change management, and security patch management.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, including root cause analysis and recommending permanent solutions.
