Mechanic (Maintenance Worker)

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic (Maintenance Worker) to join our team at Mercidar Fishing Corp' in Navotas City Metro Manila. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of fishing vessels, ensuring they are kept in optimal working condition. This is a full-time position that will be critical in supporting the ongoing operations of our company.

What you'll be doing

Perform routine maintenance and repair on our fishing vessels, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other mechanical components

Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions, and take appropriate action to resolve them

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities

Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the fleet is well-maintained and ready for use

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to protect yourself and others

Participate in regular training to stay up-to-date with the latest industry techniques and technologies

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Mechanic or Maintenance Worker, preferably within the fishing or maritime industry

Strong technical skills and knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy

Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks

Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the broader team
