Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist who will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and performing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping tasks tailored to the hospitality industry. This position is essential in ensuring compliance with company policies, hospitality standards, and government regulations—contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of our hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Process vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and guest-related transactions.

2. Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.

3. Ensure timely payments and maintain accurate records.

4. Prepare and post journal entries.

5. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

6. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

7. Monitor daily cash flow and reconcile bank statements.

8. Assist in handling petty cash and cash advances.

9. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.

10. Maintain supporting documentation and audit trails.

11. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and company financial policies.

12. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.

13. Coordinate with purchasing and F&B departments for inventory reconciliation.

14. Help monitor cost controls and variances.

15. Assist with payroll preparation and data validation.

16. Maintain confidentiality of employee financial records.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field

2. 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality or service industry

3. Knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and hospitality-related financial practices

4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or hotel PMS systems like Opera)

5. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

7. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
