HR Assistant - Payroll with Background on Construction Payroll

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Payroll Processing – Construction Industry

Collect, review, and verify employee timesheets from various construction sites (including regular, overtime, and night shift differentials)
Process weekly or bi-monthly payroll based on project schedules and employee types (e.g., project-based, casual, regular)
Construction-Specific Payroll Functions

Maintain records for job site labor costing (by project and department)
Assist in tracking of employee deployment across multiple construction sites
Process payroll for both in-house staff and project-based workers/laborers
Coordinate with project managers for accurate timekeeping and headcounts per site
Maintain a roster of manpower per site including hiring, movement, and termination
Timekeeping & Attendance Monitoring

Monitor daily time records (DTR) submitted from project sites (manual and/or biometric)
Reconcile timekeeping data with site engineers or foremen
Handle irregularities such as absences, tardiness, no work-no pay adjustments
Employee Relations & Documentation

Address employee inquiries related to salary, deductions, and government contributions
Assist with onboarding of new workers including processing of employment documents
Help in generating employment contracts for project-based workers with correct wage breakdown and project duration
Tools and Software Exposure (Preferred)

Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
Soft Skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive salary information
Familiarity with Philippine Labor Code and construction labor standards
Ability to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines
